Renee Bruns and her buddies West African Adventure

Renee and her buddies began their West African journey in Nigeria, exploring the lush trails of Lekki Conservation Centre, the history of the slave trade in Badagry and boating through the floating community of Makoko. The mix of nature and resilience amazed them.

In Benin, they explored the Sacred Forest, Museum of History and the Python Temple. They also stopped by at The Amazon Statue.
In Togo, the streets of Lomé welcomed them with energy and color with visits to Togoville, Agbodrafo and Lome exploring the popular Fetish market, Slave House, among others.

Ghana brought reflection, especially at Cape Coast Castle, where history spoke louder than words and the Kakum National Park.
At the end of the our as they stood by the ocean, Renee smiled. “This journey changed us,” she said. And it truly had.
